What does abundance mean and why do so many people in the wellness world talk about it?

The definition of ABUNDANCE is:

  • ⁠an extremely plentiful or over sufficient quantity

  • supply⁠ overflowing fullness⁠ affluence wealth⁠ ⁠

I used to be convinced that abundance would never come to me. I was stuck in a negative narrative where my glass was way MORE than half way empty. I would say ‘I’m skint’ ‘I’m tired’ ‘Why don’t I have that’ ‘I am slow, fat, lazy.’ Guess what? I only ever called more of this to me as this was what I was sending out to the universe⁠ .⁠ 

I started a range of different practices to help to combat these limiting beliefs and to start filling my glass! I believe SO STRONGLY in having an abundance practice that I have designed a 10 day course that will get you started and making changes to move from limiting beliefs to an abundant mindset! I will outline this course at the end of the article.

Whether you’ve read The Secret or not I think we can all agree that in a crowd, a party or with a group of friends the people who are smiling, are positive and are warm will attract the attention of the room with their energy. If this energy can make people navigate towards them and hold their attention THEN what messages are ALSO being sent to the universe? This is called the LAW of Attraction. The Law of Attraction is the ability to attract into our lives whatever we are focusing on. It is believed that regardless of age, nationality or religious belief, we are all susceptible to the laws which govern the Universe, including the Law of Attraction. In basic terms, all thoughts turn into things eventually. But what if you focus only on the negative…

If you focus on negative doom and gloom you will remain under that cloud. If you focus on positive thoughts and have goals that you aim to achieve you will find a way to achieve. What if your energy is negative? What messages are you sending out to others and the universe⁠ .⁠ Sometimes these narratives are imprinted so deeply into our subconscious that it makes it hard to start to change and evolve from them. We can feel stuck and give up before the hard work of our practice starts to fruit⁠.

WHAT ARE THE PHYSICAL, MENTAL AND EMOTIONAL EFFECTS?

Now how nice would it be to live your life in the green? To have clarity and calm. To feel empowered and energised. To feel rooted and grounded. It’s not THAT hard. All you need is time and the tools to work on practices of abundance. LUCKY FOR YOU I have designed a 10 DAYS TO ABUNDANCE course that will equip you with some of the tools needed to feel and stay more in the green column.

TOOLS TO ABUNDANCE

1. YOGA – pretty obvious right? There will be yoga included in this 10 day course. Yoga is just simply the best. I love that it can be accessible, it can be fun, it can be challenging and it can be relaxing. The yoga we will do on this course will be uplifting and energetic. We will call in abundance through movement of our body, our intention and our breath⁠ .⁠

2. JOURNALING – It can be one of the most frustrating hurdles to overcome when you are met with a fresh sheet of white paper and the daunting task of moving the pen across it. What do I write about? I’ll mess it up. My writing is to messy! How do I start? Oh I don’t have anything good enough to write about. This is a waste of time. It has taken TIME to get comfortable and enjoy journaling but it is one of the BIGGEST contributions to my journal to an abundant mindset. I would be lying if I said it’s been easy. It hasn’t. There have been many a night and many a morning where I have stared at the vast white page and achieved zero words⁠

3. MEDITATION – One of the best techniques I’ve used to become more positive has been meditation. On this 10 day ABUNDANCE course you will be guided through a collection of my favourite meditations that help with the belief and visualisation of positivity and abundance⁠.

.⁠4. NIDRA – This practice has got my heart and my soul. I LOVE teaching yoga nidra as much as I love practicing it. I have designed some yoga nidras that will target deep into our subconscious and start working at rewriting these negative mindsets and narratives. You can practice these over and over again taking in deeper and more profound effects each time⁠

5. PRANAYAMA – Breathing brings us into the present moment and takes us away from anxiety or depression. When we are anxious we are worried about the future and when we are depressed we can’t move on from the past. When we can focus on the present moment we can feel grounded, secure, empowered and in control. This mindset shift is a great tool to start calling in abundance.

This course gives you a taster of all the things I love and have affected me the most in a positive way⁠. Over your 10 day journey you will journal EVERY DAY! Yep. You heard right. Get a new journal just for your abundance practice OR grab one that’s been collecting dust for the last few years. Each day you will have a different journal task and you will explore different writing techniques. You will then have a guided meditation, nidra, pranayama or yoga class that focuses on abundance and builds on your journalling.

At the end of the 10 days sit down with a cup of tea or wine and read back what you wrote, reflect on your breathing, meditation and yoga. Has anything shifted or changed for you over the 10 days⁠?
